It's #WorldSpaceWeek so let's discover how space 🛰 and biodiversity 🏞 are connected!  🇮🇪 Dundalk Bay is a #Natura2000 site, recognised for its importance to an impressive range of marine and coastal species. It is protected under the European Birds Directive due to its role as a habitat for wintering waterbirds and migratory species. The bay's mudflats, sandflats, and estuarine ecosystems support large populations of birds, making it a significant conservation area. In response to increasing threats to ecosystems, the EU #NatureRestoration law aims to restore at least 20% of the EU’s land and sea areas by 2030, and ultimately, all ecosystems in need of restoration by 2050.
