It's a wrap! Day two of #TheRealityTour in Ulaanbaatar built on the energy of Day one. Our host Bat-Orgil welcomed attendees into the day, leading into remarks from our founder @algore, who shared how Climate TRACE is exposing the truth about global emissions and helping us #ActOnClimate.
From there, scientists took questions straight from the audience, diving into the impacts, solutions, and why science matters for every step of the work we do together. A panel then brought us into Mongolia’s unique topography and nomadic traditions, and how they are threatened by severe desertification – alongside innovations and resilience tools that protect biodiversity and centuries-old ways of life.
The afternoon shifted into skill building, from youth-led projects shaping communities with the Zorig Foundation, to a powerful session from Climate Reality Leader Khulan on how narrative storytelling fuels movements.
We closed the day with a blessing ceremony – a sacred milk libation to #MotherEarth and the Eternal Blue Sky – blessing participants on their journey forward as Climate Reality Leaders. Day two marked the conclusion of our 61st Climate Reality training, and final #TheRealityTour stop of 2025. What a way to finish.

Waste management and resource recovery remain essential to circular progress. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s recent review identified strong potential for circular construction strategies and end‑of‑life reuse in construction to deliver quantifiable carbon savings. Yet challenges persist in the rollout of Simpler Recycling due to legacy property structures. Strengthening these back‑end systems ensures green building products re‑enter value chains, supporting both circular economy objectives and sustainable urban development. The collective impact across policy, design, education, and technology confirms that the carbon footprint of construction can be reduced dramatically when the sector treats sustainability as an integrated, measurable discipline rather than an optional ambition.
Whole Life Carbon is a platform for the entire construction industry—both in the UK and internationally. We track the latest publications, debates, and events related to whole life guidance and sustainability. If you have any enquiries or opinions to share, please do
