How do sea turtles eat jellyfish without being stung? 🐢 🪼

Their mouths and stomachs are lined with spiny points, known as papillae, which allow them to pierce and hold onto jellyfish, as well as moving them down their stomach.
As reptiles, turtles’ scales also act as protection from the venom released by a jellyfish sting – as long as they keep their eyes shut!
