Florida has more than 1,100 golf courses and over 5,600 pickleball courts. There’s no shortage.
Golf courses require a gross amount of fertilizer and pesticides just to maintain the grass. During the stormy season the rain will wash these fertilizers and pesticides into the waterways which can cause toxic algae blooms.
Pickleball courts are made of concrete. Concrete releases an extreme amount CO2 each year.

Skills growth underpins sustainable building design, sustainable building practices, green infrastructure and low carbon building upgrades across sustainable urban development.
Wildfires reaching typically cool, damp parts of Europe underline the need for fire‑resilient façades, materials and landscaping integrated into sustainable design and eco‑design for buildings. Priority actions include resource efficiency in construction, circular construction strategies, end‑of‑life reuse in construction and circular economy approaches that deliver measurable carbon footprint reduction.
